The Law Firm of Pajcic & Pajcic donated $100,000 to the Clara White Mission on Nov. 16.

The money will be used to provide an early Thanksgiving dinner to 1,200 people Nov. 21 and also to support the nonprofit’s year-round programs.

Accepting the gift, Clara White Mission CEO and President Ju’Coby Pittman called the contribution a “game changer.”

“The gift will allow the Clara White Mission an opportunity to continue to do all the good that we can, in all the ways that we can, to all the people we can, while we can, ” Pittman said.

Firm partner Seth Pajcic said it is important to the Pajcic family to give back to the community and now in the coronavirus pandemic, the need is even more urgent.

“The Law Firm of Pajcic & Pajcic has been a longtime supporter of the Clara White Mission and its goal of job training and employment solutions to reduce homelessness,” he said.

“While the coronavirus is taking a toll on all of us, the devastation of the pandemic on the community served by Clara White is even more drastic. With the holidays upon us, we felt this was an important time to do our part to help those who are struggling on so many fronts.”

Clients of the nonprofit and their families come to the mission at 613 W. Ashley St. daily, seeking a hot meal and packaged food.

To ensure the safety of those needing assistance by implementing the COVID-19 social distance measures, the 117- year-old agency changed its indoor operations to an outdoor process under a pavilion where it distributes hot meals.

“We are thankful that we are able to help in this time of great need and call upon others who are able to donate what they can,” Pajcic said.
