Paradise Grills wants to build-out the former Newk’s Eatery space at Town Center Promenade.

The city is reviewing a permit application for Paradise Grills in 4,380 square feet of space at 4520 Town Center Parkway, No. 101, at a cost of $286,529. It is next to Aspen Dental.

Tenant Contractors Inc. is the contractor. Hota Design Studio is the architect.

Orlando-based Paradise Grills calls itself the largest outdoor kitchen manufacturer.

It produces commercial barbecue grills, stainless appliances, prebuilt outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, and tiki huts and island bars.

Its first Jacksonville location is at 8206 Philips Highway, Unit 20, in Baymeadows Junction at Baymeadows Road and Philips Highway.

Newk’s closed last year at Town Center Promenade a little more than two years after it opened.

It continues to operate three Jacksonville locations.
