The 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission will interview 12 applicants Oct. 22 at the Duval County Courthouse to succeed Circuit Judge David Gooding.
Gooding is retiring from the bench Jan. 1. Here are the applicants:
• Imani Boykin, owner of the Law Office of Imani Boykin in Jacksonville, is a graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law who was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2005.
• Jeb Branham, owner of Jeb T. Branham P.A., is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2000.
• Melina Buncome is an assistant public defender in the 4th Circuit who graduated from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1994.
• Corrine Bylund is owner of Bylund Law PLLC in Jacksonville Beach. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2005 after graduating from Florida Coastal School of Law.
• Janet Carver is a partner at Carver & Adams Law in Fernandina Beach. A graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law, she was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2000.
• James Kallaher, a partner at Kallaher, DeLuca & Naughton in Orange Park, graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2001.
• Adina Pollan is owner of Pollan Legal in Jacksonville. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2005 after graduating from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
• Randall Richardson is an attorney in the 1st District Court of Appeal Regional Conflict Counsel Office. A graduate of Florida Coastal School of Law, he was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2011.
• Dan Skinner, assistant state attorney in the 4th Circuit, graduated from Regent University School of Law. He was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1997.
• Kimber Strawbridge is a general magistrate/hearing officer in Jacksonville. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2012 after graduating from Florida Coastal School of Law.
• Julie Taylor is general counsel and civil traffic infraction hearing officer in the 4th Circuit. She graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1996.
• Susan Zerbe, assistant public defender in the 4th Circuit, graduated from Florida State University College of Law. She was admitted to The Florida Bar in 2006.
Interviews will start at 9 a.m. in the chief judge’s conference room. Each applicant will appear before the commission for 15 minutes.
The commission may submit the names of up to six nominees to Gov. Ron DeSantis, who will appoint Gooding’s successor.
The interview proceedings are open to the public, except for deliberations, which are confidential.

Because of restrictions in place for the COVID-19 pandemic, only the applicants and commissioners will be in-person for the interviews.
