JaxPort names new compliance chief

Nick Primrose also will serve as the port’s liaison to the City Council’s special resiliency committee and the Office of General Counsel.

The Jacksonville Port Authority announced Sept. 2 it hired Nick Primrose as chief of Regulatory Compliance.

Primrose will oversee the port’s regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness and risk management.

He will serve as JaxPort’s liaison to the Jacksonville City Council’s Special Committee on Resiliency and the city Office of General Counsel. 

Primrose was deputy general counsel under Govs. Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott and general counsel for the State of Florida’s Division of Emergency Management.

“As we grow our port and the positive impact we have on the region’s economy, building on our role as a good corporate citizen continues to be a priority,” JaxPort CEO Eric Green said in a news release.“Nick’s expertise in regulatory oversight and risk management, along with his passion for public service, makes him an excellent fit for this position.”

Primrose is a member of the Florida Bar and has a J.D. from Barry University.
