The Hutson Companies, based in St. Augustine, submitted preapplication plans for a 450-unit apartment development in SilverLeaf, between St. Johns and St. Thomas Island parkways, north of the future First Coast Expressway.

A conceptual plan shows development of 15 buildings and two amenity centers in two phases on 28 acres in SilverLeaf Parcel 5.  The plan is labeled with national home construction company D. R. Horton.

Jacksonville-based civil engineering company England-Thims & Miller Inc. is the applicant’s representative.

SilverLeaf is an 8,000-acre master-planned community in northern St. Johns County west of Interstate 95 and south of County Road 210.

It is approved for 10,700 dwelling units; 1.95 million square feet of retail and commercial use; 650,000 square feet of office use; 300,000 square feet of hospital use; and 3,500 acres of preservation area.
