Distribution centers: Amazon adding $5 million conveyor system

Storage rack systems in review for Wayfair

The city is reviewing a permit application for Amazon.com to install a $5 million conveyor system at its Westside Industrial Park sortation center at 4948 Bulls Bay Highway. Codes-ABC Inc. is providing private code compliance review.

The Seattle-based online retailer has eight facilities open or in development in Northeast Florida: two large fulfillment centers, the sortation center, a fulfillment center for heavy bulk freight and a delivery station.

Two more delivery stations are in development and another large fulfillment center is under review.

The city also is reviewing a permit application for the installation of storage rack systems for online furniture retailer Wayfair Inc.’s fulfillment center at 13483 103rd St. in Cecil Commerce Center at a cost of $2.85 million.

MHS Company Inc. of Kentucky is the contractor.
