Ernst & Young LLP announced Entrepreneur Of The Year 2020 Award finalists from Northeast Florida: Joey D. Batchelor, Guardian Fueling Technologies LLC, Jacksonville; Gregg Cohen and Alex Sifakis, co-founders of JWB Real Estate Capital, Jacksonville; Craig Mandeville, Forcura, Jacksonville; Don Wenner, DLP Real Estate Capital, St. Augustine. They are among 21 finalists in Florida chosen by a panel of independent judges from nearly 60 nominations. Award winners will be announced at a virtual event Oct. 8. Regional winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National Awards, to be announced in November. The Entrepreneur Of The Year National Overall Award winner will then move on to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in June.
The UF Health Proton Therapy Institute added radiation oncologist Eric Brooks to its team of proton therapy specialists. He will treat patients who have lung cancer, breast cancer or lymphoma by using radiation oncology, including pencil beam scanning. Brooks most recently was a resident physician in radiation oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
Bacardi Bottling Corp. in Jacksonville named Darrin Mueller, formerly manufacturing director, as operations director, the site’s top role. The facility employs more than 200 people and is situated on a 92-acre campus at 12200 N. Main St. Mueller joined Bacardi in 2015 as senior bottling operations manager. As operations director, he is responsible for plant operations. Founded in 1972, Bacardi Bottling Corp. bottles rum-branded products in the U.S. for the 158-year old Bermuda-based Bacardi Ltd.
Groundwork Jacksonville named Ann-Marie Knight and Steve Swann to its volunteer board of directors. Knight is vice president, community engagement and chief diversity officer for University of Florida Health Jacksonville and Swann is city engineer for Atlantic Beach.
The Jacksonville Port Authority appointed Nick Primrose as the port’s first chief of regulatory compliance. He previously was deputy general counsel for Florida Govs. Ron DeSantis and Rick Scott, and general counsel for the state Division of Emergency Management.
