Holley was appointed to the bench in 2010 by former Gov. Charlie Crist and reappointed in 2015 by former Gov. Rick Scott.

Because of COVID-19, the meeting was a hybrid platform with judges and attorneys participating remotely or in person at the law firm’s office in Deerwood Park, instead of the traditional meeting at The River Club.

The organization’s mission is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills in the profession through education and mentoring activities.

Volunteers needed for mentor program

The Young Lawyers Section of the Jacksonville Bar Association and the D.W. Perkins Bar Association are seeking attorney volunteers for the Ribault and Raines High School Future Lawyers and Leaders Program, a mentoring opportunity organized around a mock trial at the end of the school year.

Volunteers should be committed to building a supportive relationship with a high school student and sharing at least four virtual hours a month. Past volunteers report benefiting more from their participation than they believed they offered.

Attorneys may contact U.S. District Judge Brian Davis at (904) 301- 6625 to volunteer or for more information.
