The CSI Companies cut the ribbon April 19 for its headquarters in The Point at Gate Parkway, where the staffing organization moved about 125 employees over the past few weeks.
“This is just the start for us,” said CEO Chris Flakus at an event attended by staff and invited guests.
The CSI Companies provides national staffing in the technology, financial, accounting, health care and other professional industries.
CSI has about 125 Jacksonville employees and 205 total.
The company has not announced its total investment in the three-story structure, for which the city approved permits Nov. 17 to build-out space at a cost of $548,324.
That is the basic construction and does not include the complete interior design, furnishings and other costs.
CSI is leasing the building at 7720 Baymeadows Road E., which is off Gate Parkway at Interstate 295.
The structure features a horseshoe-shaped layout and an interconnected stairwell with marble and stone finishes.
It features a fitness center and yoga lawn on the first floor; a café-style lounge with an outdoor courtyard; coffee bars on each floor; and collaborative spaces around the building.
CSI hired a personal trainer for staff using the fitness center and it provides bicycles for use by employees who want to ride in the area. It also has a billiards table, golf simulator and other activities.
“Jacksonville is CSI’s national headquarters and we wanted to make a statement about our commitment to employees and to the city,” Flakus said in November.
Flakus thanked contractor Marand Builders Inc.; interior designer Connie Turner Interiors Inc.; landscape designer Ross Garden Design; Brad Chrischilles, principal and Jacksonville director at Foundry Commercial, who represented CSI in the site search; and others involved in the project.
Flakus said the deal started 18 months ago when he and his wife shared an airline flight with landlord Ash Properties owners Mike and Elaine Ashourian.
Jacksonville-based Ash Properties developed the 54,354-square-foot building.
The city issued a construction permit for the building in 2018. It was available for lease and then built-out for CSI.
The CSI Companies announced July 23 it would relocate and expand its headquarters to the structure.
The CSI Companies was founded in 1995.
In 2004, CSI moved to 9995 Gate Parkway N., where it leased about 40,000 square feet. That is about 4 miles north of the new site.
The new building is home to CSI specialty divisions: CSI Financial, CSI Healthcare IT, CSI Professional, CSI Tech and its nonprofit organization, CSI Gives Back.
“This is a state-of-the-art building with amenities designed at giving our employees a great work experience,” Flakus said previously.
‘“We have outgrown our current building and because this is our national headquarters, we were looking for someplace we can be for the next 10+ years.”
He said the lease is for 10½ years.
In 2010, The CSI Companies became a part of Recruit Global Staffing, which is active in Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania.
