Kalypso Couture, the first brick-and-mortar retail store for local designer Michael Armanno, is open in the historic Elks Building Downtown at 211 N. Laura St.
A news release says the store will showcase the work of Lan Do, an eighth-generation master tailor, and Armanno, principal designer.
“We meet with our clients and learn a little about them — what kind of job they have, how often they wear suits, where they live and their personality,” Armanno said in the release.
Armanno posted on his LinkedIn profile that he moved to Jacksonville in 2012 from Evansville, Indiana, where he worked for Tien Son Custom Tailored Suits as communications director and social media manager.
Kalypso Couture offers custom men’s suits and helps clients create personal wardrobes.
The store also offers designer evening gowns, dresses, accessories and tuxedo and suit rentals.
