Valeen Arena joined the Bedell Firm as an associate attorney to focus her practice on civil litigation.
She was a judicial law clerk for the U.S. District Judge Brian Davis in the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, Jacksonville Division.
Arena received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
She is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section board of governors and The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division board of governors.
The city’s 29th annual World of Nations Celebration will showcase a naturalization ceremony on Feb. 26 coordinated by U.S. District Judge Marcia Morales Howard and U.S. Customs and Immigration Services Field Office Director Lisa Bradley.
Howard will administer the Oath of Allegiance to selected immigrants, the final step in becoming a U.S. Citizen.

The Jacksonville Division of the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida, has on its docket several prisoner civil rights cases filed by pro se inmates in which the court intends to appoint counsel to represent the plaintiff.
The court seeks attorneys who’d like to volunteer to gain federal court experience while providing a public service.
