Convenience store briefs: Love’s, RaceTrac, Gate and Wawa make moves

Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores planned in North Jacksonville.

The city is reviewing permit applications for the proposed Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores location and Speedco Tire Shop on 16.65 acres at 12921 Duval Road at a combined cost of almost $4.56 million.

Bojangles Inc. will operate a restaurant in the travel stop. Harrison French & Associates Ltd. of Bentonville, Arkansas, is the architect and engineer.

Oklahoma City-based Love’s Travel Stops plans a convenience store, restaurants and fuel services for cars and tractor-trailers at Duval Road and Interstate 295, near the Amazon fulfillment center. 

RaceTrac at Pritchard

RaceTrac Petroleum Inc. is moving ahead on plans to build an 8,100-square-foot gas station and convenience store with 20 fueling positions on 4.39 acres at Perimeter Industrial Parkway West at northeast I-295 and Pritchard Road.

Atlanta-based RaceTrac paid $2.6 million for the Perimeter West Industrial Park property Dec. 15.

It bought the land from SS Pritchard LLC, managed by Leed Silverfield. The city calculated a mobility fee of $305,636. Connelly & Wicker Inc. is the civil engineer. 

RaceTrac renovations

RaceTrac is renovating stores in Northwest Jacksonville and in Arlington.

The city issued a permit Dec. 29 for Dykstra Construction Inc. to remodel the 5,233-square-foot RaceTrac gas station and convenience store at 9980 New Kings Road in Northwest Jacksonville at a cost of $239,099.

A permit was issued Jan. 5 for Fulcrum Construction LLC to renovate the 5,233-square-foot RaceTrac at  8240 Merrill Road at $300,000.

The work involves interior renovations, signs and awnings.

Gate Petroleum to San Pablo

Gate Petroleum Co. paid $1.1 million Dec. 18 for property along San Pablo Parkway.

The city is reviewing permit applications for Gate to build a 6,544-square-foot gas station and convenience store, fuel canopy for 20 fueling positions and dumpster enclosure on 3.63 acres at 4121 San Pablo Parkway.

No contractor or construction cost are listed. Fisher Koppenhafer is the architect. Codes-ABC Inc. is handling code compliance.

Gate bought the land from Estuary LLC and Pablo Holdings LLC.

Wawa to Bartram Market

JEA received a service-availability request for Wawa to build a gas station and convenience store at 100 Bartram Market Drive at Bartram Market.

Bartram Market is a 38-acre shopping center at Race Track Road and Florida 9B.
