The city of Jacksonville is converting two COVID-19 testing sites to vaccination sites.

At a virtual news conference Jan. 7, Mayor Lenny Curry said that beginning Jan. 11, the Lane Wiley Senior Center and the Mandarin Senior Center will provide COVID-19 vaccinations for people 65 and older, frontline medical workers and first responders. Testing no longer will be available at the locations.

The Lane Wiley Senior Center is at 6710 Wiley Road in West Jacksonville. The Mandarin Senior Center is at 3848 Hartley Road.

Both centers will close at 5 p.m. Jan. 7 for the conversion.

Hours of operation and the process to receive the vaccination will be announced Jan. 8, Curry said.

The city has limited availability of vaccine, so people should continue to wear face masks, avoid large crowds and wash their hands, he said.
