Construction can start on the first building at Lane Industrial Park in West Jacksonville.

The city issued a permit Jan. 12 for Foresight Construction Group Inc. of Jacksonville to build the 161,355-square-foot Building 100 at 2282 Lane Ave. N. at a cost of $9.16 million.

The structure is a warehouse building with office space.

The park, at Lane Avenue and West 12th Street, is designed for a second building. Building 200 is shown on a permit application at 161,335 square feet at a cost of $6.55 million.

A group led by former Florida Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera bought the Northwest Jacksonville property Nov. 18.

Jax Industrial One Ltd. bought 24.6 acres for $1.15 million from a group led by lobbyist Deno Hicks and former JEA CEO Aaron Zahn.

First American Bank of Elk Grove, Illinois, issued a $19.5 million construction mortgage and security agreement to Jax Industrial One Ltd.

Kasper Architects is the architect.

Colliers International Executive Director Guy Preston and Senior Associate Seda Preston comprise the leasing team for the property.

A site brochure says the project offers multitenant industrial warehouse buildings that can offer spaces from 20,000 square feet to the entire structure.

The brochure says there are dock-high doors, a shared concrete truck court, and parking expandable to 468 autos.
