Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders announced Jan. 27 it will open three restaurants in St. Johns County.

The company said in a news release the franchises will be owned by Josh and Sarah Miller. It did not say when they will open or where they will be located.

Huey Magoo’s features grilled, hand-breaded or “sauced” chicken tenders, salads, sandwiches and wraps. It says its tenders are made fresh with no antibiotics, hormones, steroids or preservatives.

The chain offers dine-in, take out, delivery through third-party delivery services, drive-thru and curbside pickup. Its restaurants average 1,900 to 2,200 square feet.

Huey Magoo’s said it has sold 150 franchises in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina and Alabama. According to its website, the chain has 14 restaurants open in Florida, two in Georgia and one in Mississippi. Most of the Florida restaurants are in the Orlando area.

Huey Magoo’s said in 2021 it will open seven restaurants in Georgia in Milledgeville, Valdosta, Oakwood, Dacula, Flowery Branch, Monroe and Warner Robins.

In Florida, it will open in Spring Hill, The Villages and Winter Garden.

Huey Magoo’s was founded in 2004 by Matt Armstrong and Thad Hudgens in Oviedo. Andy Howard is the president and CEO.

“We are continually blown away by the tremendous popularity and growth of this exceptional brand, and we are thrilled to enter a new year with more great franchisees, hitting our huge milestone sixth state and 150 franchises sold,” Howard said in the news release.
