Florida State College at Jacksonville culinary management professor Chef Rich Grigsby received the 2021 Postsecondary Educator of the Year Award from the Center for the Advancement of Foodservice Education.

The award, co-sponsored by Sysco Corp., recognizes Grigsby’s achievements in culinary arts education, innovation, leadership, sustainability efforts, entrepreneurship, technological abilities and community outreach.

“FSCJ is privileged to have incredible faculty members like Chef Grigsby who not only care about the learning opportunities they provide, but they also invest in our students’ experiences beyond the classroom so they are well-prepared to enter a fulfilling career after graduation,” said FSCJ President John Avendano in a news release.

Also a recipient of FSCJ’s 2021 Distinguished Faculty Award, Grigsby instructs students in the college’s simulated restaurant environment, Cafe Frisch.

FSCJ’s culinary management associate degree program received an exemplary rating because of full compliance and was accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission through 2026.
