London-based SmartStream Technologies, a financial solutions and managed services provider, announced June 15 it opened its Jacksonville office and is looking for workers.

Its office is at 4190 Belfort Road, Suite 200, in Enterprise Park. The office building is at Interstate 95 and Butler Boulevard.

SmartStream said it will start with 20 employees, focusing on providing technology and business support services, client onboarding, professional services and solution presales.

The company said that while some executives and staff will be relocating, most of the employees will be hired from the region.

“The opening of this Center marks a milestone in the growth of our solutions and managed services offerings,” Haytham Kaddoura, CEO of SmartStream, said in a news release.

“Dedicated to the development and support of our services we wanted a site that was near customers, offered a pool of available talent and was located in an area that was conducive to doing business. After researching potential locations Jacksonville was a logical choice and once we met with Development Officials we were certain we had made the right decision.”

The company says it has more than 1,000 employees in 25 global offices, with Jacksonville its third in the U.S. It also has offices in New York City and Philadelphia, according to its website.

“SmartStream is the latest in a long line of companies that are recognizing Jacksonville’s growing prominence in the financial technology industry,” Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry said in the release.

“And this is just the beginning. The momentum is only going to continue to build as more companies realize the amazing opportunities our community has to offer.”

The company said it has more than 2,000 clients, including 70 of the world’s top 100 banks.

Jacksonville job postings for Smartstream on LinkedIn and Glassdoor include support analyst, HR and recruitment manager, senior cloud network and infrastructure engineer, senior support engineer and transaction fee specialist.

“Talent is the key when companies are making investment decisions and we’re seeing fintech companies from around the world open here because they know they can find the skilled employees they need to succeed,” JAXUSA Partnership President Aundra Wallace said.
