Restaurant Notes: Whataburger to Oakleaf Corner; Baymeadows Tunis opening

 The city issued a permit June 4 for Schaffer Construction LLC of Frisco, Texas, to build a 3,205-square-foot Whataburger at 8239 Old Middleburg Road S. in Oakleaf Corner at a cost of $1.7 million.

Baymeadows Tunis opening in July

Location owner Ben Belgacem said he would open his Tunis Seafood, Chicken & Grill in July at 5201 Baymeadows Road in the Brierwood area.

He said the Tunis restaurants are owned and operated individually.

He will relocate from Tampa to Jacksonville to open what is his first store.

Tunis has three Jacksonville seafood, wings and subs locations.

Cold Stone Creamery to St. Johns

St. Johns County issued a permit for the interior build-out of Cold Stone Creamery in 1,400 square feet of space at 2570 Race Track Road in the Shoppes at Race Track Village in Saint Johns.
