Sleiman Enterprises COO Michael McNaughton said the closed Stein Mart stores in two of its centers are in discussions for lease to new tenants.
He said Sleiman Enterprises is working with two tenants for the Stein Mart at 1848 University Blvd. W. in Lakewood Promenade. The 30,000-square-foot store would be divided for lease.
At Point Meadows, two companies want to lease the Stein Mart, although it will be leased to just one, McNaughton said. That 32,000-square-foot store is at 10915 Baymeadows Road.
“Discussions are moving along quite well,” he said. He declined to identify the prospective tenants.
Jacksonville-based Stein Mart filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in August and closed its stores in late October.
Also at Lakewood Promenade, Pet Supplies Plus intends to lease 7,500 square feet of space between the Stein Mart shell and Dick’s Wings & Grill, McNaughton said.
JEA received a service-availability request for Pet Supplies Plus to demolish, combine and remodel two retail units at Lakewood Promenade.
