Restaurant Notes: Human Bean to Clay County; Tropical Smoothie to Dunn

Wendy's planned for Beachwalk in St. Johns.

The Human Bean coffee shop wants to open a 600-square-foot drive-thru shop along Blanding Boulevard opposite Bear Run Boulevard in Orange Park in Clay County. EnVision Design & Engineering is the civil engineer.

Human Bean representative Hannah Maynard said the location is set to open in July or August.

The Human Bean opened its first drive-thru espresso stand in 1998 in Ashland, Oregon.

It expanded to surrounding cities in Southern Oregon and began franchising the brand and system in 2002.

The Human Bean brand currently has more than 200 locations open or under development in 23 states.

Tropical Smoothie to Dunn

The city issued a mobility fee calculation certificate for a 1,678-square-foot Tropical Smoothie Cafe on about a half-acre at 1290 Dunn Ave. in North Jacksonville.

The site is at Dunn Avenue and Haverford Road, west of Interstate 95.

Dyne Development LLC of Little Rock, Arkansas, is the developer.

Dyne Hospitality Group is the largest Tropical Smoothie Cafe franchise in the brand, with 90 projected to be open by year-end.

Wendy’s at Beachwalk

 St. Johns County is reviewing a permit application for Wendy’s on 1.13 acres on the south side of County Road 210 West in Beachwalk.

The 2,371-square-foot fast-food restaurant will have a drive-thru. The property owner is 4th Avenue Partners LLC of Fort Lauderdale.
