Nemours Children’s Health System will become Nemours Children’s Health effective in August, the hospital announced May 14.

The name change will create “a unified brand across the five-state health system” headquartered in Jacksonville, the news release said.

Nemours operates two hospitals, about 80 primary and specialty care clinics, an office of policy and prevention and a “robust international program.”

As part of the change, Nemours is launching its five-year strategic plan, which involves advocating for a national strategy for children’s health, innovating delivery of health care and taking advantage of the system’s clinical expertise.

“Nemours’ new strategy is designed to achieve our vision of creating the healthiest generations of children,” R. Lawrence Moss, president and CEO of Nemours Children’s Health said in the news release. “Our commitment to transforming children’s health recognizes that we must re-write its definition.

“We are committed to working with public, private, governmental, and community partners to address the social determinants of health through a holistic approach beyond healthcare which includes the home, school, and community.”

It redesigned its logo to “better reflect the organization’s bold vision of redefining children’s health” and “represents Nemours’ unique approach to patient care.”

“Nemours’ vision, strategic plan, and new brand are interwoven, all reflected in its new brand mark coined ‘The Loop of Care,’ which represents both the enduring relationship between a child and caregiver, as well as Nemours’ continuous quest for innovation,” Sarah Sanders, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Nemours Children’s Health, said in the release.

In Jacksonville, Nemours operates a hospital at 807 Childrens Way in San Marco and a Nemours Foundation office at 10140 Centurion Parkway.
