Hotel Notes: Tru by Hilton, TownePlace Suites near airport issued permits

Mobility fee calculated for Tru by Hilton in Southside.

The city issued permits April 30 for Dix Construction Inc. of Flagler Beach to build the 105-room, five-story, 53,961-square-foot Tru by Hilton hotel at 1265 Airport Road at a cost of $7.7 million.

Those permits included construction of a dumpster enclosure and pool equipment storage. 

TownePlace Suites permit

 On April 7 the city issued a permit for the 102-room TownePlace Suites at 1287 Airport Road at a cost of $8.39 million.

That five-floor, 63,221-square-foot project is next to the Tru by Hilton. The city also issued permits April 30 for the dumpster enclosure and pool equipment storage for TownePlace Suites at a cost of $45,000.

Inn of Jax LLC, the developer, bought the 4-acre property in July 2019 for $2.85 million.

The site contained a closed Wendy’s restaurant, which was approved for demolition in February.

Tru by Hilton in Southside

The city calculated a mobility fee of $80,640 for a proposed 98-room Tru by Hilton hotel at 4945 Lenoir Ave. in South Jacksonville.

The 41,000-square-foot project, with a pool, is planned on 2.74 acres. Dhimant Soni of Lake City is the developer.

He is manager of OMSHIV JAX LLC. William E. Tully III Inc. is the civil engineer.
