UPS said May 18 it plans to hire about 100 permanent, part-time workers in Jacksonville.
Pay for the package handling positions starts at up to $17 per hour.
The company said that more than 56% of UPS’s drivers and management staff originally were hired for part-time package handler jobs. Promotion from within enabled many to begin their careers at UPS.
“We’re proud to move our world forward by delivering what matters, and the rapid and ongoing growth of ecommerce coupled with overall demand for our services is creating new part-time opportunities,” said Yanina Hernandez-Bynum, director of human resources, in a news release.
“We’re looking for people to join our team here in the Jacksonville area, and to possibly start a great career at UPS.”
The positions offer health care, retirement contributions, tuition assistance and a discounted stock purchase program.
UPS said it is hiring at its 4255 James E. Casey Drive facility in Westside Industrial Park. Those interested can apply at upsjobs.com.
