The city issued a permit Oct. 29 for TD Bank to renovate the former Synovus Bank office on the Downtown Southbank.
Vericon Construction Co. LLC of Orlando will renovate the 1,746-square-foot building at 1326 Prudential Drive at a project cost of at $555,624.
Bergmann Architects Engineers Planners of Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, is the architect.
The city issued permits July 28 for Atlas Sign Holdings Inc. to put up six signs for TD, including the drive-thru and ATM, at a cost of $24,170.
TD Bank closed its branch in the nearby former Stein Mart building at 1200 Riverplace Blvd. in April as a part of the financial organization’s regular evaluation of its locations.
New Jersey-based TD Bank announced July 14 that it will bring more than 250 jobs to Northeast Florida over two years, including 200 customer service and operations positions and the rest among branches.
TD Bank said it employs about 440 people in Jacksonville and more than 2,300 across the state.
It said it will bring new retail branches to the area. It currently operates 10 stores in North Florida and a total of 153 statewide.
Nick Miceli, TD Bank regional president, Florida Metro, said previously the new stores will be smaller. Now, a bank branch is about 3,400 square feet. New locations will be 1,700 to 1,800 square feet.
