Island Wing Co. appears to be building a restaurant at Tamaya Market at Beach and Tamaya boulevards.
A JEA report for service availability requests shows Island Wing as a project at 12675 Beach Blvd.
The report says the location is a pad-ready site at the corner of the property.
Shopping center developer Harbour Retail Partners Management LLC sold property at the site Nov. 12 to OFFI Island Wing Tamaya LLC for $1.75 million. The buyer is based in West Palm Beach.
The acquiring LLC is associated with restaurant groups that own Island Wing and other concepts.
The Colliers real estate company is marketing and leasing the Tamaya Market shopping center, which is anchored by Sprouts. The site plan shows a vacant pad at the front corner.
Colliers Senior Director Nancy Sumner said Nov. 15 that Island Wing Company Grill & Bar chose Tamaya Market for its third Jacksonville area location. The buyer group bought 1.56 acres at the corner into the entrance of the shopping center.
"The high incomes and surrounding growth attracted them here," Sumner said.
Sumner and Colliers Senior Director Katy Figg represent the Tamaya Market landlord.
The first two area Island Wing restaurants are in the Tinseltown area of Southside Boulevard in Jacksonville and in Bartram Market in Saint Johns.
The 7,700-square-foot Tinseltown location opened in early 2020 in a converted TGI Friday’s restaurant at 4409 Southside Blvd.
The 10,528-square-foot Bartram site is opening soon at 360 Bartram Market Drive.
Island Wing Co. is a full-service restaurant and bar concept that focuses on baked and grilled food rather than fried.
The first Island Wing opened in August 2012 in Auburn, Alabama, by a husband-and-wife team. The franchise company is based in Destin. The company website shows 10 locations in Alabama, Florida and Virginia.
