The Catholic Lawyers Guild of the Diocese of St. Augustine gave Joni Poitier, a partner at Moseley Prichard Parrish Knight & Jones, the 2021 Law & Spirituality Award.

The guild presented the honor Nov. 4 during the 31st annual Red Mass at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Downtown Jacksonville.

“Joni is very involved in the community, including her parish at St. Pius V. She represents the essence of the Spirituality Award,” said Rachel Rall, president of the Catholic Lawyers Guild.

In 1997, the guild’s executive board established the award to be presented each year at the Red Mass to an individual who has exemplified his or her work in the law arena and at the same time made spirituality a part of his or her work as well as his or her life.

Poitier is a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and the D.W. Perkins Bar Association and vice chair of the Florida Elections Commission.

She is a member of the Women’s Giving Alliance, the Wolfson Children’s Hospital Women’s Board and the UNCF Northeast Florida Council.

Poitier is immediate past chair of the board of directors for Family Foundations of Northeast Florida Inc. and serves on the board of Catholic Charities Bureau Inc.
