Huey Magoo’s Chicken Tenders announced it will open Oct. 13 in Jacksonville Beach.
The 3952 Third St. S. location is the 19th for the Orlando-based chain and its first in Northeast Florida.
Huey Magoo’s will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. followed by the opening of the 1,600-square-foot restaurant. Regular hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
The location is in the South Beach Regional shopping center.
“Jacksonville is a huge, vibrant community, which we look forward to serving our greatest tasting chicken tenders to and gaining many more raving fans all across Florida and the Southeast.” Huey Magoo’s President and CEO Andy Howard said in the Oct. 11 release.
Howard said in July the company plans to open nine locations in Northeast Florida, including in Mandarin, Arlington and St. Johns County.
The restaurant will offer dine-in, takeout and delivery through Uber Eats and DoorDash. The restaurant features a pickup window and customers can order in advance through Huey Magoo’s mobile app.
The company said this is the first of six Huey Magoo’s stores to open in Duval County under franchisee Michael Phillips. He is a former franchisee with Little Caesars Pizza and Jersey Mikes Subs.
“It feels great to open our first Huey Magoo’s store in Jacksonville Beach,” Phillips said in the release.
“I live at the beaches, and there is a lot of buzz surrounding this first unit to the Jacksonville market.”
Huey Magoo’s features grilled, hand-breaded or “sauced” chicken tenders, salads, sandwiches and wraps. Huey Magoo’s says its tenders are all natural with no antibiotics, hormones, steroids or preservatives.
Huey Magoo’s said June 16 it has sold 200 franchises in Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina and Ohio.
After the Jacksonville Beach restaurant opens, Huey Magoo’s will have 15 locations in Florida, three in Georgia and one in Mississippi. Most of the Florida restaurants are in the Orlando area.
