Online alcohol delivery company Drizly announced Sept. 2 it is launching service in Jacksonville and Saint Augustine to deliver beer, wine and spirits in less than an hour.

The service is in partnership with Shores Liquor, which has 13 Northeast Florida stores.

“With Drizly, we can showcase the depth of our inventory on one platform, and enable people to shop, compare, and make the right choices for themselves, or even do research before they visit one of our stores,” said Sam Leach, back office manager of Shores Liquor, in a news release.

Drizly said the service will reach more than 650,000 adults of legal drinking age in the region.

“Great online shopping experiences and the convenience of delivery have become an expectation for shoppers, making now an ideal time to launch Drizly in Jacksonville,” said Dianne Hallock, Drizly director of retail marketing, in the release.

“Partnering with Shores Liquor puts their vast range of beer, wine, and spirits at peoples’ fingertips, further delighting their customers and providing a strong growth opportunity for their business.”

Adults of legal drinking age can shop using the Drizly app or website.

For example, a 750ml bottle of Grey Goose Vodka delivered Downtown is $24.99 with a $7.99 delivery fee.

Drizly also offers same-day delivery from other Northeast Florida stores, including ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, but not as fast. Delivery fees for those may be less.

Drizly says it is North America’s largest e-commerce alcohol marketplace, offering service in more than 1,400 cities.

In February, Uber Technologies Inc. announced it reached an agreement to acquire Drizly for about $1.1 billion in stock and cash. That deal is being scrutinized by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, according to Marketwatch.com.
