What can we do to help in our local communities? This is a question that often comes to mind for many residents in any city across the U.S.; however, as Jacksonville continues to grow, it’s important for us to take time to consider our impact on our own communities.
With Jacksonville being so diverse, there is an abundance of opportunities specific to certain areas of town.
If you reside near the beaches or find yourself there often, you are no stranger to the debris that inevitably finds its way onto our sandy shores.
Although it may not be huge, the simple act of keeping our shoreline clean not only will ensure we remain an ideal destination but will assist our local beach residents.
Additionally, the beaches offer a variety of restaurants not typically found throughout Jacksonville.
Taking a step away from your “go-to” spot and branching out to enjoy these restaurants can help support the local beach commerce.
Although Jacksonville is fortunate to experience such growth, I’m sure we are all aware of the increased number of cars on the road. Many families and people love spending weekends out and about at local restaurants or shops.
Taking the time to be mindful of those walking in heavily trafficked areas can benefit safety and security.
In addition to safety, the area has an abundance of parks which offer beautiful displays of nature and ideal spots for those looking to take a breath and relax.
When you choose to enjoy these parks, consider keeping them clean and pristine for the next person’s experience.
It is notable that many Jacksonville eateries are understaffed. They are doing their best to maintain a hospitable environment while providing excellent service.
I encourage everyone to offer a smile and “thank you” to restaurant workers next time you’re enjoying a meal. You would be surprised at how an act of kindness can go a long way in making someone’s day.
These are just suggestions of simple ways to help keep our Jacksonville beautiful and enjoyable for everyone. I encourage you take a step back and consider these suggestions, so our local communities may continue to take steps forward.
