He said April 5 the development will be part of the new car dealership along Atlantic Boulevard.
The sites touch and there will be access from Atlantic Boulevard and from St. Johns Bluff Road.
The dealerships will wrap around the Discovery Plaza shopping center at southeast Atlantic Boulevard and St. Johns Bluff Road.
Porter said the existing dealership is 35,000 square feet.
The two dealerships will occupy 10 acres and provide for 40 service lifts, he said.
Porter said he expects to submit building permits soon. Groundbreaking could take place in about three months, followed by construction over 12-15 months.
Jacksonville-based Prosser Inc. is the project civil engineer.
Porter opened Subaru of Jacksonville in 2000.
It is a family-owned and -operated new and used vehicle dealership.
