The Dunkin’ doughnuts and coffee shop under development in North Jacksonville is its GO model, which is a drive-thru and walk-up shop with no indoor seating.
The city issued a permit Jan. 13 for the $425,000 construction project at 110 New Berlin Road in the Oceanway area east of Main Street. Suncoast Industrial & Construction Services Inc. of Atlantic Beach is the contractor.
Plans for the 1,258-square-foot shop show a double-drive-thru, a walk-up window and no indoor seating. They show the GO logo.
It is the second confirmed GO in Northeast Florida.
Dunkin’ held a grand opening Jan. 29 for Florida’s first Dunkin’ GO drive-thru-only /walk-up store at 1620 Country Road 210 W. in the Fountains at St. Johns, east of Interstate 95 in St. Johns County.
The store, which opened in October, features a design with a digital focus. It has a walk-up window and a double drive-thru lane with a second ordering point with digital menu boards.
Dunkin’ said Jan. 27 in a news release the 1,200 square-foot St. Johns County location is open 5 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. It employs 20 people.
In announcing the grand opening, Dunkin’ said the St. Johns County shop “features a modern design to create an approachable, positive and energetic environment with a digital, on-the-go focus.”
“With maximum flexibility and efficiency for busy guests, the new drive-thru only location is designed for even greater convenience and reduces contact delivery for guests to access our products.”
Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ sells coffee and baked goods. It has more than 12,600 franchised restaurants in 40 countries worldwide.

Coffee chains increasingly are building drive-thru/walk-up models.
Scooter’s Coffee of Omaha, Nebraska, and Ellianos Coffee Co. of Lake City are opening or franchising drive-thru kiosks in Northeast Florida.
