Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming to northwest Beach and University boulevards.
The city issued a permit June 2 for Ladson Construction to build a 2,425-square-foot shell structure at 5801 Beach Blvd. that will be built-out for Chipotle.
The construction cost for the construction project, on about an acre, is $1 million. The city is reviewing a permit application for the estimated $300,000 interior build-out for Chipotle.
Plans show a total of 62 seats, comprising 42 inside and 20 on the patio. There is a drive-thru.
NAI Hallmark represents the retail center, University Crossing, which was developed on the parking lot in front of the closed Kmart.
McDonald’s and Starbucks already opened there.
