Atlantic North, the Sleiman Enterprises shopping center at northwest Kernan and Atlantic boulevards in East Arlington, is adding at least four more buildings, comprising two auto sales centers, a structure of stores that will include Chipotle Mexican Grill on an outparcel, and a drive-thru-only Chick-fil-A.

They are:

• Chick-fil-A is exploring opening a 2,705-square-foot custom double-drive-thru-only restaurant with stacking for 35 cars on 1.03 acres.

The St. Johns River Water Management District received a pre-application for the project and JEA is reviewing a service availability request. Bowman Consulting Group is the applicant.

The proposed Chick-fil-A at Atlantic North is near Panda Express.

The site corresponds to the 11913 Atlantic Blvd. outparcel on Sleiman Enterprises’ site plan.

Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A lists 19 locations in Northeast Florida and three interior locations at The Avenues mall and in the University of North Florida and Jacksonville University.

Atlantic North appears to be Chick-fil-A’s first confirmed area drive-thru-only restaurant.

Most Chick-fil-A restaurants operate 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday. They are closed Sunday.

• A multitenant retail building is planned next to Chick-fil-A. The city is reviewing a permit for Target Contractors Inc. to build a 7,431-square-foot retail shell building on 1.46 acres at 11919 Atlantic Blvd. at a cost of $668,900. It is on Outparcel B, next to Panda Express, fronting Atlantic Boulevard.

The site plans show that Chipotle Mexican Grill and GNC are two tenants in the building, which also is addressed as 11921 Atlantic Blvd.

There is space for two more tenants.

• The city is reviewing a permit to clear 6.78 acres for AutoNation USA. The wooded site is next to the Audi Jacksonville dealership.

The city is reviewing civil engineering plans and issued a mobility fee calculation and concurrency reservation certificates for the proposed 19,884-square-foot dealership. Plans indicate it will sell used cars.

ANUSA LLC of Fort Lauderdale will operate the project on a ground lease. Site clearing is estimated at $62,500.

• The city continues to review a permit application for the proposed $6.3 million Tesla Service Center, a 45,505-square-foot building at 11585 Atlantic Blvd.

It will be a sales, delivery and service center for electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc. The site is near Cinemark Jacksonville Atlantic North.

Game Creek Holdings is listed as the owner. Chapman Design Architecture of Des Plaines, Illinois, near Chicago, is the architect.

The site plan also confirms that the Scrubbles 3 Minute Express Wash is branded LUV.

LUV Car Wash, based near Phoenix, announced March 4 it closed on an acquisition to bring its first express car wash locations to Jacksonville.

LUV acquired 10 car washes from Tifton, Georgia-based Scrubbles. Four are open with six more in development and projected to open over the next 12 months.

The site plan also shows that the undeveloped land between buildings in the main inline center are “future build areas” and the almost 25,000-square-foot closed Earth Fare space remains available for lease.

Anchors in Atlantic North include Cinemark, Belk, Academy Sports + Outdoors and LA Fitness.
