Eastside Community Church Inc. of Jacksonville sold 10.46 of its 15 acres at 13301 Beach Blvd. on June 24 to Eastside MF Partners LLC, affiliated with Corner Lot of Jacksonville, for $5 million.

City plans indicate that Corner Lot plans to develop a 240-unit apartment community with six four-story buildings. There will be 329 parking places. The buildings will have a maximum height of 52.5 foot

Construction is expected to begin later this fall and be completed in winter 2024, according to Corner Lot.

The community will be gated with a pool, amenity center, gym and landscaping.

The property is near Tamaya at northeast Kernan and Beach boulevards. The Pablo Creek Regional Library is nearby.

The Eastside Community Church, affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America, said the sale was strategic for the church to expand its ministry locally and abroad, said Senior Pastor Tim Lusk.

The church sponsors mission projects in several countries.

“People are missing community these days and the pandemic has made it worst. Now there will be a church, a public library and the apartments that will create a bit of a community. We’ll be able to minister without being intrusive,” he said.

“We were fortunate because our relationship with the church helped us find a great property and a solution that worked for them and the surrounding community,” said George Leone, Corner Lot COO.
