By Craig Shoup | JBA Executive Director

Recently, I had the privilege of attending The Florida Bar strategic planning meeting at the invitation of President-elect Gary Lesser.

The Jacksonville Bar Association was well represented with Florida Bar board of governors member and JBA Past President Braxton Gillam and Florida Bar board of governors member and current JBA President Michael Fox Orr in attendance.

Other attendees were The Florida Bar board of governors, members of The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division board of governors and state Supreme Court Chief Justice-designate Carlos Muñiz.

We had two days of discussions on the priorities of The Florida Bar, its relationships with its members, the court and the public.

I am looking forward to the new Bar year that begins July 1 and the future of the JBA and The Florida Bar.

I am honored to be appointed by Lesser to serve as a liaison to The Florida Bar board of governors for the 2022-23 Bar year.

The future of the Bar is bright.
