Another Wawa is coming to South Jacksonville.
The city issued a permit April 29 for construction of a Wawa gas station and convenience store at 7790 Gate Parkway, west of Interstate 295.
M.E. Construction Inc. of West Melbourne is the contractor for the $888,000 project.
Wawa will build a 6,119-square-foot gas station, which is a typical size for the company in Northeast Florida.
The site is near Baer’s Furniture, Ikea and Culver’s.
A Wawa spokesperson said construction could start in mid-May with opening in the fourth quarter of 2022.
