Baptist Health is using technology to enhance the patient and caregiver experience. The health system collaborated with Telescope Health to launch the HealthPlace On Demand app, which connects patients 24/7 via video chat to board-certified emergency room and family physicians from the local community.

For those choosing in-person visits, the new Baptist Access app helps patients find destinations within Baptist Health hospitals with step-by-step navigation. It also helps locate where they parked.

Patients can use the app to search for a doctor nearby, access their medical records, manage their co-pays, contact their doctor’s office and more through My Baptist Chart.

Behind the scenes, Baptist Health also is using technology to enhance efficiency. By applying analytics software and digital processes to surgery scheduling, Baptist said it streamlined operating room access for surgeons to more easily reserve a time.

Baptist Health also implemented a secure, mobile clinical communications platform to unify key information like on-call schedules. It enables clinicians to connect with other members of the care team via text messaging.

“Our teams are constantly thinking about how to improve, to make the experience easier and more efficient for everyone involved,” said Michael Mayo, Baptist Health president and CEO.
