DoorDash is bringing another DashMart to Jacksonville.
It opened the first in 2021 in EastPark Center West. A second is in permitting review at 6360 103rd St. in West Jacksonville.
DoorDash wants to renovate almost 7,000 square feet of space in Anchor Plaza at 103rd Street and Blanding Boulevard.
In 2021, DashMart, part of the DoorDash food-delivery network, built-out a new delivery service for household essentials in a warehouse at 11653 Central Parkway in EastPark Center West at Beach Boulevard and Interstate 295. It built-out 9,696 square feet in suites 201-205.
San Francisco-based DoorDash, founded in 2013, said it has become the fastest-growing last-mile logistics company in the U.S.
It works with top U.S. restaurant brands that offer on-demand delivery, expanding to more than 4,000 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
On Aug. 5, 2020, the company announced the launch of DashMart stores nationwide.
It described DashMart as a new type of convenience store, offering household essentials and local restaurant foods to customers’ doorsteps.
“On DashMart, you’ll find thousands of convenience, grocery, and restaurant items, from ice cream and chips, to cough medicine and dog food, to spice rubs and packaged desserts from the local restaurants you love on DoorDash,” it said.
DashMart stores are owned and operated by DoorDash.
It calls DashMart a new channel for local businesses to reach customers online, “transforming how our merchant partners can sell their retail products.”
DoorDash continues to expand local service.
Southeastern Grocers said that that starting in October, customers can access its proprietary new offering via app or website for the same deals available to customers in Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarkets and have their groceries delivered by DoorDash in two hours or less.
