The Custom Brands Group of Hunter Douglas Fabrication Co. filed a notice with the state saying it is closing its Jacksonville facility, resulting in the termination of 79 employees.

Hunter Douglas is a Netherlands-based company that makes window treatments.

Its Utah-based Custom Brands unit has been operating the Jacksonville facility at 8801 Corporate Square Court since it acquired Vista Products Inc. in 2020, according to the Custom Brands website.

Vista filed a notice in April 2020 that it was cutting 52 jobs at the facility because of the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on its business.

The company sent a letter Feb. 17 to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act to notify it of the upcoming job cuts.

The letter said most of the employees will be terminated between April 17 and June 9, but about six employees will remain until the facility closes for good, which is expected by Aug. 4.
