Community First Credit Union started construction in North Jacksonville and is pursuing a permit to build in South Jacksonville, its 20th and 21st branches.
The credit union recently opened its relocated Mandarin branch in the Mandarin Station center.
The credit union serves people who live, work or attend school in Baker, Brevard, Broward, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Indian River, Lake, Martin, Nassau, Orange, Palm Beach, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie and Volusia counties.
The new Jacksonville locations are part of the credit union’s Branch Transformation Project, a comprehensive improvement to member service by configuring the spaces to create a more modern retail experience.
The new branch interiors feature upgrades including an open floor plan and advanced digital technologies.
Community First expects to open its Northpoint Village branch by year-end at 3133 New Berlin Road. It is at Yellow Bluff and New Berlin roads next to Publix Super Markets Inc.
Auld & White Constructors is the contractor and TTV Architects is the architect for the 3,300-square-foot office. Community First bought the 1.04-acre lot for $1 million in July 2022. It is the credit union’s 20th location and its first new, free-standing branch with a drive-thru.
The branch features Community First’s new design and a historical mural depicting the history of Cedar Point and North Jacksonville. A pending building permit shows a construction project cost of $1.7 million.
Community First plans to break ground soon on a free-standing branch at 5617 Beach Blvd. in Boulevard Crossing at Beach and University boulevards.
Community First Credit Union announced Dec. 29, 2021, it paid $1.1 million for a 1.22-acre outparcel at Boulevard Crossing, the redevelopment project on the parking lot of the former Kmart at 5689 Beach Blvd.
Community First said it will build a 2,500-square-foot branch and drive-thru. Auld & White Constructors and TTV Architects are the contractor and architect.
A pending permit shows a construction cost of $2 million for the project, which will be part of 8,843-square-foot building.
Community First said the Boulevard Crossing branch will include connected outparcel retail in the development. Along with the credit union office, there will be two additional tenant spaces.
