Lake City-based Ellianos Coffee announced Jan. 4 that it opened its 30th store in the southeastern United States in Jacksonville.
The location at 8781 Old Kings Road S. is one of 12 Ellianos shops planned in the Jacksonville area.
The store opened Dec. 21.
The ellianos.com site shows four open shops in Northeast Florida in the Old Kings Road South location in Baymeadows; at 1125 Lane Ave.; at 301 Blanding Blvd. in Orange Park; and at 235 Harper Lane in St. Johns County.
Two are coming soon in Cedar Hills and Chaffee Road in Jacksonville.
Scott and Pam Stewart founded the drive-thru coffee chain in 2002.
In addition to the Jacksonville market, Ellianos plans to open drive-thru stores in and around Orlando, Atlanta and Montgomery, Alabama, among other areas.
Ellianos said here are more than 100 locations in the development phase.
“We’re dedicated to not only growing our franchise but doing so strategically,” said Scott Stewart, company president, in a news release.
“We’ve done the hard work of creating systems of franchisee support that assist them in every step of the process.”
Based on research conducted on the coffee industry in 2022, the release said 2023 year is looking favorable for continued growth.
U.S. coffee chain sales grew by 10% from June 2021 to June 2022. Methods of convenient ordering such as pre-ordering or drive-thru are projected to remain dominant.
Ellianos, with double-sided drive-thrus, “is perfectly poised to experience heightened growth in the coming years as more consumers become accustomed to this preferred method of ordering,” the release said.
Ellianos said it seeks franchisees for territories in Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and North Carolina.
