Baptist Health of Northeast Florida is offering Certified Nursing Assistant classes for those preparing for the accreditation test.
The Baptist Health Clinical School is teaching a 15-week course that provides classwork, lab sessions, testing and clinicals. Students are taught to care for patients in a variety of settings.
“We are building on the success we’ve had with training our team members and opening the same possibilities for anyone interested in starting or advancing their career in the healthcare field,” said Elizabeth Bruno, a registered nurse and Baptist Health vice president and chief learning officer, in a news release.
“CNAs are essential members of a care team, and help ensure safe, quality care for our patients and their families. It is a great position for those who want to help provide direct patient care.”
To qualify, students must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or GED, pass an academic assessment test and participate in an interview.
Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work at Baptist Health following certification. They receive a year of mentoring if hired.
When employed, they are offered education support by Baptist Health.
The deadline to apply is Jan. 13. Classes begin in February.
