A Minneapolis-based patio furniture store that focuses on using recyclable products appears to be bringing a showroom to The Strand at Town Center.
Yardbird, which is owned by Best Buy, intends to build-out a sales showroom at 4906 Town Center Parkway, No. 100.
Sheer Enterprises of West Palm Beach is shown as the contractor of the 3,827-square-foot project at an estimated cost of $350,000.
Reprise Design Inc. of Burnsville, Minnesota, is the architect.
The space is next to KeKe’s Breakfast Cafe at the end of a multitenant building that is anchored by Best Buy. It is first-generation space, meaning Yardbird is the first tenant.
The Strand’s major tenants include Hobby Lobby and PGA Tour Superstore.
Yardbird sells sectional, sofa, love seat, bistro, dining and fire table sets; chairs and chaise lounges; ottomans; and side tables, all made with aluminum, wicker and teak.
Accessories include throw pillows and fitted covers.
Yardbird.com says its model is factory-to-home.
“We saw an opportunity to reimagine an antiquated industry by designing and manufacturing in-house and selling furniture directly to our customers in order to provide the best possible shopping experience,” says the site.
It says Yardbird focuses on sustainability and environmentally friendly practices and materials.
It said it uses recycled materials and in 2022 incorporated 430,000 pounds of ocean-bound plastic into its furniture.
“From incorporating ocean-bound plastic into our hand-woven wicker to using recyclable materials and packaging whenever possible, we are focused on creating the world’s most environmentally friendly outdoor furniture,” the site says.
The showrooms offer a design team.
Yardbird.com shows it has 14 showrooms in Minneapolis; Austin, Texas; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Detroit; Houston; Kansas City, Kansas; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Seattle; and Washington, D.C.
It also sells at Best Buy stores, including at Best Buy Dadeland in Miami.
In California, it sells at Pacific Sales.
Yardbird was founded in 2017 by father and son Bob and Jay Dillon.
