The city issued a permit July 6 for Management Resource System Inc. of High Point, North Carolina, to build-out space in the Southside Commons shopping center for Five Below.

The contractor will renovate 14,972 square feet of space at 651 Commerce Center Drive, No. 600, at a project cost of $500,000.

Barr Architecture Inc. of Davie is the architect.

The store is next to Ross Dress For Less, which is adjacent to the Michaels arts and crafts store.

The Southside Commons shopping center, at southeast Southside Connector and Tredinick Parkway, is anchored by The Church of Eleven22 and Planet Fitness. It is north of Regency Square Mall.

Philadelphia-based Five Below Inc. has eight stores in Northeast Florida. In addition to Southside Commons, the company is adding a location in Gateway Town Center in the Brentwood area.

Five Below calls itself “the trend-right, high-quality, extreme-value retailer for tweens, teens and beyond.”

The logo says it sells “cool stuff” at “$1 to $5 & beyond.”
