Extended-stay Everhome Suites in review for Arlington

Everhome Suites, a new Choice Hotels International Inc. brand, is evaluating property in Arlington for a 114-room extended stay project.

JEA issued a service availability letter July 14 for the project at southwest Southside Connector and Tredinick Parkway, north of Regency Square Mall.

Rimrock Development LLC is the developer.

A conceptual site plan shows a four-story, 57,831-square-foot building with 114 parking spaces.

The site is on the western half of a 4.9-acre vacant parcel fronting Lone Star Road west of Southside Connector.

Choice describes Everhome Suites, its newest brand, as a new construction, midscale extended stay hotel. 

It is one of five Choice extended-stay brands.

The Choice website says more than 30 Everhome Suites are open or under development in the U.S. and more than 75 open or under development worldwide 

Choice’s extended stay brands comprise Sleep Inn-MainStay Suites; MainStay Suites; WoodSpring Suites; Suburban Studios; and Everhome.

Choice Hotels, based in Rockville, Maryland, signed an agreement July 29, 2022, with Colorado-based real estate investment firm ServiceStar Capital Management to develop 21 Everhome Suites hotels. 

It called ServiceStar one of the largest extended stay developers in the nation.

Choice Hotels said the transaction represents Choice’s largest investment in the brand, “outlining a significant expansion across the U.S. with future Everhome Suites planned in Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Nevada and Florida over the next few years.”

It did not say Jacksonville was one of the Florida markets.

“It’s no secret that the extended stay segment has offered incredible resiliency and high returns in any environment,” said Patrick Pacious, Choice Hotels president and chief executive officer, in a news release.

The first Everhome Suites opened in Corona, California.

Choice Hotels says 11 are “soon to be ready” in Orlando and in Arizona, California, Georgia, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Wyoming.

Everhome Suites are designed with apartment-style suites that have fully equipped kitchens, workstations, full-size closets, additional storage and “spa-like” bathrooms. 

Properties feature fitness centers, business centers, libraries, guest laundry facilities and 24/7 self-service marketplaces with hot and cold breakfast options for purchase. They are pet friendly.

It does not offer free breakfast.

Multiple room types offer multifunctional furniture, fully equipped kitchens with dishwashers and premium one-bedroom suites with in-room washer-dryers.

The rate is posted at $160 a night at the Corona hotel for one guest renting one room for one night, July 24.

Other Choice brands include Radisson Blu as “upper upscale”; Ascend Hotel Collection, Cambria Hotels and Radisson as upscale; Comfort and Country Inn and Suites as upper midscale; Sleep Inn, Sleep Inn-MainStay Suites, Quality, Clarion and Clarion Pointe as midscale; and Econo Lodge and Rodeway Inn as economy.
