The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta announced July 31 it named Michelle Dennard, former president and CEO of CareerSource Florida, as vice president and regional executive of the bank’s Jacksonville branch.

Dennard succeeds Chris Oakley, who is retiring in early 2024 after 36 years with the Atlanta Fed.

Dennard served six years as head of CareerSource, the statewide workforce policy and investment board.

She resigned that position in January to “pursue new opportunities,” according to the website Floridapolitics.com.

As regional executive for the Atlanta Fed, Dennard will provide strategic support for the Regional Economic Information Network, with a focus on activities in the branch’s territory covering North and Central Florida, the bank said in a news release.

The Atlanta Fed is one of 12 regional Federal Reserve banks, covering Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

Besides its Jacksonville branch, the Atlanta Fed has branches in Birmingham, Miami, Nashville and New Orleans.
