Hopdoddy Burger Bar says it will open its third Florida location March 28.
The Austin, Texas-based chain is taking over the Grub Kitchen & Bar space at 4906 Town Center Parkway in The Strand at Town Center.
It also has locations in Gainesville and Tallahassee.
Hopdoddy sells burgers, fried chicken, fries, “loaded brussels,” salads, shakes, cocktails beer and wine, kids’ meals and more.
All Hopdoddy restaurants bake three types of buns on-site daily and hand-cut fries each morning.
The shareable fries include green chile queso, buffalo, honey and sage sweet potato, and other flavors.
Hopdoddy hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday throughThursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Hopdoddy says it will celebrate the March 28 grand opening by giving away a free burger to the first 100 people in line at 11 a.m. Customers also can enter to win burgers for a year by sharing a post or story on Instagram about their visit, tagging @hopdoddy and using #hopdoddylove.
Each month, Hopdoddy features a limited-release burger creation During opening week, Jacksonville customers can order The Truffle Mac, house-made truffle mac n’ cheese heaped on top of a beef patty topped with caramelized onions, truffle aioli, arugula and tomato.
The Hopdoddy name comes from “hops,” used in beer, and “Doddy,” a nickname for Black Angus cattle, says hopdoddy.com.
Founded in 2010, Hopdoddy has more than 40 locations in Texas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana.
