The City Council Rules Committee unanimously approved Mayor Donna Deegan’s appointment of Anna Brosche to be the city’s chief financial officer.

Deegan introduced Brosche as her pick to lead the city’s financial department June 14. She succeeded Mike Weinstein as acting CFO in October.

Appearing before the committee Nov. 6, Brosche said she received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from the University of North Florida and has been a CPA for 28 years.

Brosche was elected to an at-large City Council seat in 2015. She was 2017-18 Council president and a candidate for mayor in 2019.

Brosche is a former board member of United Way of Northeast Florida, JAX Chamber, JAX Chamber Foundation, University of North Florida Foundation, University of North Florida Coggin College of Business Alumni Chapter, Ritz Chamber Music Society and the Women’s Giving Alliance.

City Council will vote on Brosche’s appointment at its meeting Nov. 14.
