The grand opening of Mocama Beer Co.’s satellite taproom in Wildight is Oct. 14, the Nassau County master-planned community announced Oct. 10.

Mocama Wildlight is in the community’s former StoryCenter at 123 Tinker St. in Yulee. Wildlight is east of Interstate 95 on north Florida A1A.

Mocama Wildlight says it will offer small-batch tap-room exclusives and beer flights, a curated wine selection, seltzers and nonalcoholic options, and packaged beer to-go.

The grand opening begins at 4 p.m. and will include local vendors, food trucks and live music.

It’s the second location for Mocama, which says it opened its taproom at 629 S. Eighth St. in Fernandina Beach in 2020 in the former Lasserre Motor Co. building.

Following the grand opening, Mocama Wildlight hours will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday; 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; noon to midnight Saturday; and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

There will be live music 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays.

“Mocama Wildlight is dedicated to creating a welcoming and lively gathering place where the community can come together to savor great beer, delicious food and unforgettable moments,” said Simon Muldoon, Mocama Beer Co.’s operations manager in a news release.

Mocama Wildlight will offer outdoor seating areas and plans to host to festivals and culinary events for guests including families.

Mocama says its name was “chosen by the Spanish to identify the unique Timucua dialect spoken in a narrow band of coastal territory that stretches from the mouth of the Altamaha River near St. Simons Island, GA south to St. Augustine, Florida. The historical translation of the word Mocama is the ocean, or more succinctly stated by a translator, big water where the sun is born.”
