Commercial real estate company CBRE announced Oct. 23 that it arranged the purchase of a 67,323-square-foot Baymeadows warehouse by California-based MSI Surfaces from YG Capital of Brooklyn, New York, for $7.8 million.

Ben Stewart and Kyle Fisher with CBRE Industrial & Logistics represented MSI in the off-market transaction that closed Oct. 17.

The warehouse is at 8443 Baymeadows Road.

CBRE said the Baymeadows Road property is MSI’s first location in the Jacksonville market.

It will be a sales and distribution center for countertops and slabs along with flooring and tile products.

MSI is based in Orange, California, with 46 sales and distribution centers nationwide, including four in Florida. It also has international centers and offices.

“After finding no active listings for industrial space on the Southside of Jacksonville, our team approached YG Capital and presented deal terms that were appealing to both the buyer and seller,” Stewart said.

“We worked with contractors to understand build-out costs and with the tenant vacating the property,” he said.

Bryan Bartlett, senior vice president and principal of Newmark Phoenix Realty Group, represented the seller.

The two-story building, developed in 1982, includes warehouse, office and showroom space. The site is less than one mile from Interstate 95.

Previous tenants included the central office of Episcopal Children’s Services, which moved in February 2022 to nearby 8649 Baypine Road.
